Coyotes Rising

Coyotes Rising at CSUSB is a transformative two-day, one-night residential experience designed for high school juniors and seniors. Rooted in community, culture, and connection, this immersive, cohort-based program fosters a sense of belonging while empowering participants to envision themselves as future Coyotes.

Inspired by a legacy of student success, Coyotes Rising was created to support the academic journey of Black students and students from historically underserved backgrounds. While the program centers Black excellence and cultural affirmation, it is open to all students—regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender—who seek to strengthen their leadership, academic readiness, and college-going identity.

Hosted on the vibrant campus of California State University, San Bernardino, students in the Coyotes Rising program will engage in:

• Leadership development rooted in self-advocacy and cultural pride
• College-prep workshops focused on admissions, financial aid, and academic success
• Mentorship and networking with CSUSB students, staff, and faculty
• Community-building activities that foster peer connection and a sense of purpose

Coyotes Rising is more than a summer program—it's a launchpad for future scholars ready to rise, lead, and thrive at CSUSB and beyond.
